President of COGEF’s Audience Book

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the President of COGEF received, in succession, the Country Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a delegation from LIEN (Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship), as well as Mr. Matthieu KABORE, business executive.
1. Audience with UNIDO
Ms. Ourératou OUÉDRAOGO, Country Representative of UNIDO Burkina Faso since August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Burkinabè Employers’ Association.
The purpose of the meeting was to make initial contact and begin discussions as part of a strategic dialogue initiated with public and private stakeholders.
The discussions focused on the prospects for collaboration aimed at supporting Burkina Faso in accelerating its industrial development, notably through strengthening the private sector and promoting structuring initiatives. To this end, Ms. Ouédraogo expressed her wish for direct exchanges with COGEF’s technical departments to finalize a program dedicated to industrialization.
The President of COGEF echoed the same view, expressing the Burkinabe employers’ organization’s interest in national priorities, particularly economic sovereignty, local consumption and production, and the processing of local products. This meeting laid the groundwork for collaboration between UNIDO and the Burkinabe private sector in support of inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
2. Meeting with LIEN (Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship)
A delegation from LIEN (Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship), led by its President, Mr. Achile OUÉDRAOGO, was also received by the President of COGEF.
The delegation came to inform him about the organization of commemorative activities marking the association’s 10th anniversary, scheduled for July 2026, under the title “72 Hours of LIEN.”
The event is intended as a forum for dialogue between the State and the private sector on opportunities to strengthen collaboration, as well as to promote strategic partnerships. It will feature workshops and experience-sharing sessions and will place particular emphasis on promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In response, the President of COGEF congratulated the delegation on this decade of commitment, praising the momentum generated and the progress achieved since the association was founded. He assured them of his support and expressed the willingness of the Burkinabè employers’ association to help ensure the success of this celebration.
3. Meeting with Mr. Mathieu Kaboré, publisher of BFM magazine
Mr. Mathieu Kaboré, a business leader and promoter of the economic news magazine “BFM,” accompanied by his team, was received in audience by Mr. Idrissa NASSA, President of COGEF.
The meeting gave the promoter an opportunity to present his editorial production project, whose official launch is scheduled for May 29, 2026. According to him, the magazine aims to centralize and disseminate strategic economic information across West Africa, for the benefit of the private sector, public authorities, and potential investors.
The President of COGEF welcomed this initiative, which he considers relevant to strengthening economic information in the sub-region. He encouraged the promoter to ensure regular publication and to make the project sustainable over the long term. Finally, he reaffirmed the willingness of the Burkinabè employers’ organization to support this initiative.
